Marchbanks Shines Amidst Challenges at Thunder Valley
Thunder Valley, CO – Garrett Marchbanks of Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki emerged as a standout performer in the 250 class at the latest round of the motocross championship, despite facing significant obstacles during the race. Currently third in the 250 championship standings, Marchbanks displayed remarkable resilience throughout the day.
In the first moto, he overcame a poor start, moving from 16th to an impressive third place. However, the second moto proved more challenging. A first-turn crash resulted in him losing his transponder, obscuring his progress; he finished eighth, although initially unrecorded. Once the results were adjusted, Marchbanks’ combined scores of 3-8 placed him in a tie with his teammate Levi Kitchen, who took the overall podium spot due to a better second moto finish.
Marchbanks has demonstrated steady improvement this season, achieving finishes of 6-5-4 in the series. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating, “It was a solid day today, one of my best finishes at Thunder Valley. I’m super pumped to get my first moto podium in the 250 Class. Qualifying went great; I was fourth overall.”
The results highlight his consistent qualifying times, averaging between fourth and fifth. As he noted, “The motos have been great; I just need to get a better start.” With a commitment to maintaining this level of performance, Marchbanks is poised to build on his successes as the season progresses.
