Ferrari Extends Contract with Giovinazzi Amidst Strong WEC Performance
Ferrari has confirmed a multi-year contract extension for factory driver Antonio Giovinazzi, securing his position in endurance racing and as a reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari HP in Formula 1. This decision comes on the heels of a promising start to the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), where Giovinazzi, alongside teammates Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado, currently leads the Hypercar World Endurance Drivers’ Championship.
The #51 Ferrari 499P team has achieved notable victories at Imola and Spa and secured podiums at Qatar and Le Mans this season. Giovinazzi has participated in 20 WEC races with Ferrari, with 19 in the top class since 2023 as part of the 499P project.
Reflecting on his journey, Giovinazzi stated, “Eight years ago, I began my adventure with Ferrari, which for me is much more than a team: it’s a family. Renewing today means continuing a challenge that gets me charged up every day, in an environment where people, teamwork and ambition matter.”
Giovinazzi’s next appearance for Ferrari will be at the 6 Hours of São Paulo this weekend.
