Aaron Plessinger Withdraws from Washougal National Due to Health Issues
MURRIETA, Calif. – Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced today that rider Aaron Plessinger will not participate in the upcoming Washougal round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship. This decision comes as Plessinger seeks to address ongoing health concerns that have impacted his recent performances at RedBud and Spring Creek Nationals.
Team Manager Ian Harrison emphasized the team’s commitment to Plessinger’s well-being: "Our priority right now is making sure he receives the best medical advice and care possible. Aaron came into RedBud not at 100 percent… Unfortunately, he felt the effects of his illness early on… By sitting out Washougal, it gives him a few weeks to focus on figuring out exactly what’s going on with his health."
Plessinger commenced his season strongly, securing two podium finishes in the first three rounds and achieving second overall at Hangtown. However, illness forced him to withdraw from Moto 2 at RedBud and later led to his early exit in Moto 1 at Millville.
With a two-week break before Round 9 at Ironman Raceway on August 9th, both Plessinger and the Red Bull KTM team are focused on ensuring his full recovery. Currently, he ranks third in the SuperMotocross World Championship standings, and efforts will be made to bolster his fitness ahead of the final races of the Pro Motocross season and the upcoming SMX postseason.
