IMSA YouTube Channel Reaches 1 Million Subscribers Ahead of Motul SportsCar Grand Prix
As anticipation builds for the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America, IMSA has achieved a significant milestone with its YouTube channel surpassing one million subscribers, merely 18 months after launching live streaming of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to over 230 countries.
With this achievement, IMSA ranks second only to NASCAR in total YouTube subscribers, marking a pivotal moment in the organization’s digital growth strategy, which encompasses platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn.
IMSA initiated its YouTube streaming with the 2024 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring when the channel had 315,000 subscribers. The channel has since expanded its offerings to include live races, highlights, previews, post-race content, and a variety of original programming.
The all-access documentary series Win The Weekend, presented by Michelin, is currently in its third season. Additionally, the IMSA Endurance Hour podcast debuted for 2025, featuring 15 episodes produced around IMSA race weekends. Other digital content includes behind-the-scenes videos, educational materials, and classic race footage from IMSA’s archives.
By the time of the 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona, IMSA’s channel had grown to 600,000 subscribers, with 2.3 million viewers tuning into the Daytona 24 Hours at various points on YouTube.
“Reaching one million subscribers on IMSA’s YouTube channel is a landmark achievement for our organization and a testament to the passion of our global fanbase,” said IMSA CEO Ed Bennett. He noted that this milestone reflects the increasing accessibility of the sport to a worldwide audience.
IMSA President John Doonan emphasized the impact of international livestreams, stating, “The success of our Win The Weekend docuseries has brought new energy to the IMSA brand, helping us connect with audiences in fresh and meaningful ways.”
This weekend, the IMSA YouTube channel will feature live coverage of eight races across five different series, including qualifying for the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix. These events will also be available on IMSA.TV and Peacock, the exclusive televised streaming partner for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the U.S.
