Ironman Raceway Update: Chase Sexton’s Race Cut Short by Crash in Second Moto
Chase Sexton demonstrated impressive skill and strategy at Ironman Raceway, securing victory in the first 450 moto. However, his momentum was abruptly halted in the second moto due to a crash linked to mechanical failure. Reports indicate that Sexton’s front brake became jammed, possibly from debris accumulation.
Ian Harrison, Team Manager for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, commented on the situation: “Chase rode an incredible first moto. It was amazing to watch. In the second race, he lost control over the jump. Post-crash, we observed that he couldn’t get the bike going again, likely due to the front brake being packed full of mud. We still need to clarify when this occurred, but preliminary analysis suggests track debris may have contributed. We must investigate and find ways to prevent this in the future.”
Sexton left the track shortly after the incident and was unavailable for further comments. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available regarding the crash and potential mechanical issues.
