Ajith Kumar to Make Prototype Racing Debut in Asian Le Mans Series
Indian actor Ajith Kumar is poised to enter the competitive realm of prototype racing as he makes his debut in the Asian Le Mans Series this season. Kumar, 54, will team up with fellow driver Narain Karthikeyan in the LMP3 class, under the banner of Ajith Kumar Racing.
The six-race series kicks off in December at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Kumar brings prior experience from single-seater competition, while Karthikeyan has a solid foundation in endurance racing, having recently completed a full season in LMP2 with Racing Team India in 2021.
This partnership highlights Kumar’s transition from film to motorsport, reinforcing the growing popularity of racing in India. The upcoming season is anticipated to further elevate the profile of prototype racing in the region.
