Jorge Prado’s Tumultuous Season Concludes at AMA Pro Motocross Championship Finale
In a dramatic end to the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Jorge Prado’s performance aboard the Monster Energy Kawasaki truck raised further questions about his turbulent tenure this season. Competing at Budds Creek, the Spanish rider faced significant challenges during the qualifying rounds.
Prado recorded a time of 2:03.709, 11.842 seconds off the overall leader Jett Lawrence, placing him 43rd in the qualifying session and below the crucial top 36 cut-off. Despite this setback, Prado secured a spot in the main event due to his standings, remaining sixth in the overall championship points.
Starting from the last gate and the farthest outside position in the first moto, Prado initially made a strong start, entering the top ten. However, he consistently struggled throughout the motos, finishing with 11-12 results, ultimately ranking tenth overall. His overall season finish sees him in sixth place in the 450 Class Championship, with a highlight performance of fifth at both the Southwick and Ironman Nationals.
As the season closes, questions about Prado’s future with the team remain, casting a shadow over what has been a challenging year.
