Silverstone ELMS Free Practice Summary
Silverstone, UK – VDS Panis Racing’s #48 ORECA led the opening free practice session of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) today with a benchmark time of 1:43.485, logged by Esteban Masson. The session took place under overcast conditions, with light rain affecting the latter part, but Masson’s time remained unchallenged throughout.
Inter Europol Competition’s Nick Yelloly finished a close second with a best lap of 1:43.536 in the #43 ORECA. Enzo Fittipaldi’s performance for CLX Racing secured third overall with a time of 1:43.932.
In the LMP2 Pro/Am class, Sergio Sette Camara achieved the fastest time, posting a 1:44.636 for Nielsen Racing, placing the #27 ORECA seventh overall. Alex Quinn followed, clocking 1:44.752 to rank second in Pro/Am and eighth overall.
In the LMP3 category, the sole Duqueine D09, driven by Griffin Peebles, set the pace with a lap of 1:53.947, narrowly ahead of the #15 Ligier JS P325 from RLR M Sport.
GT3 saw the Iron Dames’ Porsche dominate, with Michelle Gatting recording a top lap of 2:00.112. This time positioned them first, closely followed by Proton Competition’s #60 Porsche and TF Sport’s Corvette. The LMGT3 competition was remarkably tight, with 12 of the 13 competitors finishing within a second of the lead.
Track activities will continue later today with the Bronze Test scheduled at 15:10, followed by Free Practice 2 tomorrow at 10:10.
