IMSA Unveils Resilient Racers Program at Battle on the Bricks
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IN – The TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks introduces the IMSA Resilient Racers program, a collaborative initiative aimed at supporting children battling pediatric cancer and other critical illnesses. This month, 52 out of 53 participating teams have partnered with Camp Boggy Creek and the Austin Hatcher Foundation to honor these young fighters.
Each race car will bear the first name and last initial of a child from these charities, prominently displayed alongside drivers’ names. Notably, JDC-Miller MotorSports continues its association with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital within this framework. The integration of young racers includes their presence at the track, appearance on hero cards, and shared video messages during the event’s proceedings.
“The Resilient Racers program exemplifies how we merge motorsports with our mission to empower families facing childhood cancer,” said Amy Jo Osborn, CEO and co-founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. Her son, Austin “Hatch” Osborn, will be honored on the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO, competing in the GTD PRO class.
Jacqueline Boykin, chief development officer at Camp Boggy Creek, emphasized the longstanding commitment of IMSA to community support, stating, “The latest effort of Resilient Racers reflects how IMSA stands alongside Camp Boggy Creek in bringing joy to children living with serious illnesses.”
Additionally, championship leaders Winward Racing are contributing to recovery efforts following the tragic Hill Country floods in Texas. The No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO will display the names of the 27 young victims from Camp Mystic, raising funds for the Heaven’s 27 charity. This initiative provides a streamlined approach for donations, with proceeds supporting scholarships and youth programs in the girls’ memory.
