Dennis Hauger to Join NTT IndyCar Series with Dale Coyne Racing in 2026
Indy NXT champion Dennis Hauger has secured a contract with Dale Coyne Racing (DCR) to compete in the NTT IndyCar Series beginning in 2026. The 22-year-old Norwegian driver clinched the Indy NXT title in a dominant fashion, achieving six victories, five podium finishes, and a remarkable seven pole positions during the season. Notably, he set qualifying records at Detroit, Mid-Ohio, and Milwaukee.
Dale Coyne emphasized the significance of this signing and the team’s new technical alliance with Andretti Global for the upcoming season. “This is a great opportunity for us here at DCR to bring on a talented driver and gain a strong technical partner in Andretti Global,” Coyne stated. “Thanks to Dan [Andretti] and his belief in our sport and his dedication to elevating Dennis to the top of the ladder.”
Hauger’s transition to American racing follows an impressive trajectory in Europe, where he claimed the Italian Formula 4 championship in 2019, won the FIA Formula 3 championship in 2021, and achieved five victories over three seasons in Formula 2.
“I’m excited to be joining Dale Coyne Racing for my rookie IndyCar season,” Hauger remarked. “The progress the team has shown this year is really impressive, and it’s an honor to take my place on the grid with them in 2026.” He further noted the importance of the ongoing collaboration with Andretti Global, stating it would enhance his preparation for the upcoming season.
Hauger will participate in a private test in a DCR Honda Indy car at Mid-Ohio before his official debut at the 2026 season opener on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
