Kailub Russell Secures Landmark Win at John Penton GNCC
OHIO — In a pivotal round of the 2025 Progressive Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, Kailub Russell (Yamaha) claimed his 68th overall victory at the John Penton GNCC, marking his first win since July 2020. Russell’s performance reaffirms his status within the competitive landscape of off-road motorcycle racing.
Joining Russell on the podium were Liam Draper (Yamaha) in second and XC2 competitor Cody Barnes (Honda) in third. Barnes also captured the XC2 class victory, finishing ahead of Angus Riordan (KTM) and Brody Johnson (Honda). Despite a DNF this round, Grant Davis (KTM) secured the XC2 championship and maintains a narrow lead in the overall Grand National Championship standings over Ben Kelley (KTM).
In the Women’s XC (WXC) class, Korie Steede (Husqvarna) claimed victory, followed by Brandy Richards (KTM) and Rachael Archer (Kawasaki).
