Caio Collet Joins AJ Foyt Racing for IndyCar Series
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Caio Collet has officially signed with AJ Foyt Racing to compete in the IndyCar Series alongside Santino Ferrucci. The Brazilian driver, previously with HMD Motorsports, showcased his talent during his Indy NXT debut in 2024, finishing third and improving to a second-place finish last season.
At just 23 years old, Collet arrives in the U.S. after an extensive seven-season career in European open-wheel racing, where he claimed four NXT victories and achieved 15 podium finishes from 28 races. His experiences have equipped him with valuable insight into track layouts and oval racing, setting a strong foundation for his transition to IndyCar.
Collet inherits the No. 4 Chevy car from Foyt, making him the fifth driver to hold this position since 2022. His predecessor, David Malukas, successfully established himself within the championship, finishing 11th last season and securing a future with Team Penske for 2026.
“I’m very happy to join AJ Foyt Racing in the IndyCar Series and thankful to Larry Foyt for trusting my skills,” Collet stated. “It is a dream come true after years of hard work. IndyCar is huge in Brazil, and I’m looking forward to bringing the flag back to a full-time seat in the 2026 season.”
Larry Foyt, team president, expressed confidence in Collet’s potential: “He has shown great promise in Indy NXT and junior formulas in Europe. I was impressed with how he adapted to our car at the recent Mid-Ohio test, and I’m excited to see what he can do in IndyCar. I believe he will be a strong contender for Rookie of the Year.”
As Collet gears up for the upcoming season, expectations are high for his performance and contribution to AJ Foyt Racing’s campaign.
