2025 EnduroCross Season Recap: Walker Secures Championship in Dramatic Finale
The 2025 EnduroCross season concluded with a tightly contested championship showdown at the Angel of the Winds Arena, where Jonny Walker captured his second title. Finishing the season tied on points with two-time defending champion Cody Hart, Walker secured the championship through superior moto wins, demonstrating remarkable resilience and skill.
Walker and Hart both finished the season with 141 points, necessitating multiple tiebreakers to determine the champion. Walker’s three wins decisively clinched the title after a dramatic final round where he showcased tactical acumen and mental fortitude despite initially struggling with race starts.
The last round proved challenging due to soft, rutted track conditions that tested rider fitness and skill. As Walker summarized, “The track was the way it was, so… stupendous night.” His performance included a 1-1-2 finish spread across three motos, while Hart, in pursuit, won the third moto but fell short overall.
Ryder LeBlond, representing Rockstar Husqvarna Factory Racing, achieved a career-best third place in the standings, finishing the season with 108 points. His consistent performance throughout 2025, paired with a commendable attitude towards a challenging final round, signifies a significant leap forward in his career.
Hart, retaining his position with candor, stated, “Congrats to Jonny, he deserved it.” Reflecting on his performance, he emphasized the challenges of the event, acknowledging his inability to find his rhythm early on: “I couldn’t get my stuff together tonight.”
The depth of competition was epitomized in the standings, with Cody Webb narrowly finishing fourth at 106 points after showing flashes of his former brilliance. Webb’s performance at Everett (3-2-6 finishes) allowed him to edge out Cole Haaker by a single point. Haaker’s fifth-place finish exemplified his consistent competitiveness throughout the season, never placing lower than fourth overall across six rounds.
The newly implemented points system, which mirrored AMA Supercross scoring, injected excitement into the championship race. Walker’s mid-season resurgence was pivotal, demonstrating his ability to adapt and capitalize on Hart’s earlier-season lead.
Looking ahead, Walker will carry the number one plate into the 2026 season, while Hart aims for redemption. LeBlond’s emergence as a championship contender further enhances the competitive landscape, indicating a promising future for the sport as major manufacturer support fuels the grid.
As the closing chapter of a gripping 2025 season, EnduroCross has proven its place as a premier motorsport, showcasing the talent, resilience, and drama synonymous with elite off-road racing.
