Vasser Sullivan Racing Unveils Driver Lineup for 2026 IMSA Season
Vasser Sullivan Racing confirmed its driver roster for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as reigning GTD PRO champions Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat reunite in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3. Both drivers, representing Lexus, will contest the full season, while Kyle Kirkwood will join for select Michelin Endurance Cup races.
Barnicoat’s 2022 season saw him partner with Aaron Telitz, finishing with a best result of fifth at Indianapolis despite missing three races due to injury. Hawksworth moves from the No. 12 GTD entry, where he and Parker Thompson secured fourth in the Drivers’ Championship and third in the GTD Teams’ standings, achieving five podiums and three pole positions.
“I’m thrilled to be back alongside Ben and Kyle,” said Hawksworth. “We’ve had historic victories together, including the 2023 GTD PRO championship. We’re in a stronger position as a team, and I’m determined to bring championship performance to the track.”
Barnicoat expressed similar enthusiasm, stating, “Last year was challenging, but the team became like family during those tough times. I’m grateful for this opportunity and ready to fight for another IMSA championship.”
The No. 12 Lexus will feature a new driver duo, as Telitz transitions to partner with Benjamin Pedersen, who made a strong impression during his IMSA debut last season. Frankie Montecalvo will join the team again for the five-race Michelin Endurance Cup, while Toyota-supported Esteban Masson will make his IMSA debut at Daytona, following his success in the European Le Mans Series.
The 2026 season is poised to be significant, marking the final year for the Lexus RC F GT3 in IMSA competition. To date, Vasser Sullivan Racing has achieved 15 race wins, 49 podiums, and 26 poles, including their 2023 GTD PRO title.
Jeff Bal, Director of Motorsport for Lexus Racing, highlighted the team’s preparation, stating, “We’re fortunate to have a premier driver lineup. Our focus is on reclaiming championship glory, beginning with a win at the Rolex 24, a goal we’ve been pursuing for some time.”
The season kicks off with the Rolex 24, where Vasser Sullivan aims to build on its legacy and competitiveness within IMSA.
