Cianciarulo Reflects on Transition from Racing to Life After Retirement
In a candid discussion, former professional racer Adam Cianciarulo shared insights on his transition to life post-retirement after an eleven-year career that began at Budds Creek on June 23, 2013, and concluded with the Salt Lake City Supercross on May 11, 2024. The Port Orange, Florida native, who competed primarily with Monster Energy’s teams, including Pro Circuit Kawasaki, described the adjustment to a quieter lifestyle.
“It’s definitely a big adjustment,” Cianciarulo stated. He acknowledged the unique challenges of stepping back from the intense, high-profile atmosphere of racing, where athletes often contend with “main character syndrome.” He noted, “Transitioning into the life that I have now is definitely a bit quieter… Just trying to pay more attention to the people I care about.”
Reflecting on his retirement, Cianciarulo explained that the past year and a half has fostered personal growth: “When you’re racing, you’re kind of living to each weekend… Now, time goes by faster. I really have enjoyed it.”
Cianciarulo is also venturing into new projects, including the upcoming season of his podcast, The AC & JB Show, and returning for Race Day Live in 2026. Despite a busy schedule, he expressed satisfaction with his current quality of life, marking a positive chapter post-competition.
