Prado Shocks with Podium Finish in Season Opener
In a remarkable debut at the Anaheim Supercross, Jorge Prado defied expectations, capturing a podium finish in the main event after securing victory in the heat race. “This is really ahead of my expectations,” Prado stated. His primary goal was to navigate each session with confidence, and he indicated that his extensive off-season preparation contributed significantly to his success.
Prado, still acclimating to the supercross format, expressed his disbelief at achieving such a significant milestone early in the season. “This is unreal. I can’t even think about standing on the podium right now,” he admitted during the post-race interview. He highlighted that this achievement was not initially anticipated until later in the season.
The 14-time KTM Factory Racing participant emphasized his gratitude towards the team, saying, “I can’t thank enough the whole Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team for opening the doors again to me. We belong to each other.”
Notably, Prado’s return to KTM proved seamless. He remarked, “Once I jumped back on the KTM, it clicked right away. This setup was good for me from day one.” His familiarity with the bike enabled him to maximize practice sessions over the winter, allowing for extensive lap time without the constraints of testing.
With this strong opening, Prado is poised to build on his performance as the season progresses. “Hard work always pays off,” he concluded, looking ahead to upcoming races with a commitment to continuous improvement.
