Yoder’s Heat Performance Undermined by Main Event Incident at SD
In a promising outing at last night’s SD round, Hunter Yoder delivered a strong performance in the heat race, finishing second to teammate Maximus Vohland, securing a ClubMX Yamaha 1-2 finish. Yoder’s prowess in the heat was evident as he holeshotted and led early before Vohland overtook him.
However, the main event proved disastrous for Yoder. He was involved in a first-turn crash with Levi Kitchen, pulling in from the inside. After remounting in last place, Yoder fought back to as high as 14th by lap four, but ultimately exited the race early due to bike issues, ending in 21st.
Despite dealing with a partially torn ACL, as confirmed by Steve Matthes, Yoder opted to withdraw from the race to prevent exacerbating his injury. In an Instagram update, he reflected on his day, expressing disappointment about the crash and the bike malfunction but remained optimistic about his upcoming performance.
As Yoder prepares for the next round, he aims to leverage his heat race confidence for improved results.
