RJ Hampshire Withdraws from Glendale Due to Illness
RJ Hampshire of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing will not compete in tonight’s event in Glendale after suffering from severe illness. Team manager Nate Ramsey confirmed to Racer X that Hampshire’s condition worsened following the first qualifier, where he experienced a head cold, vomiting, and flu symptoms.
In the qualifier, Hampshire’s performance was significantly below his usual standards, clocking a lap time nearly three seconds slower than the top competitors, making him the slowest in the 450SX A group.
Ramsey emphasized the decision to withdraw was made for Hampshire’s safety: “It’s completely unsafe for him to be out there.” Further updates will be provided as they become available.
