Rob Collard and Hugo Cook: A Dynamic Duo in British GT for 2026
Two-time British GT champion Rob Collard and reigning vice-champion Hugo Cook are set to return for their second season together with Barwell Motorsport in the 2026 British GT Championship. The duo will pilot the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, marking their first complete campaign together after Collard’s absence at the 2025 season opener due to medical reasons.
The pair wrapped up the previous season with notable achievements, including a pole position and a second-place finish during the dramatic finale at Donington Park, which secured Cook’s runner-up position in the championship standings.
“I can’t wait to get back on track this year… I went in cold – but despite that, we still enjoyed a really strong year,” Collard expressed, highlighting their potential for 2026. He emphasized the importance of consistency and the collaborative spirit between himself and Cook, stating, “Hugo is superb to work with… I believe we have a great opportunity this year.”
Cook echoed these sentiments, expressing excitement about reuniting with Collard. “I learned a huge amount across last year… Winning the championship is definitely the aim, and I believe we have all of the ingredients to really go for it,” he stated.
Barwell Motorsport has an impressive track record in British GT, with 28 of Lamborghini’s 31 victories. Team principal Mark Lemmer expressed confidence in their pairing: “Considering the challenges they faced last year, they soon became a standout pairing… They know how to win.”
With their sights firmly set on obtaining both the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles, Collard and Cook will be key contenders in an upcoming season characterized by intense competition and high stakes.
As Barwell prepares for a transition to the new Temerario GT3 platform in 2027, the team’s focus remains on maximizing the current season’s potential. The ongoing partnership of Collard and Cook is poised to be instrumental in this pursuit.
