JDC-Miller MotorSports Reunites with Mustang Sampling for 12 Hours of Sebring
Five years after their historic victory at the Twelve Hours of Sebring with a Cadillac DPi-V.R, JDC-Miller MotorSports has partnered once again with Mustang Sampling. The team’s #5 Porsche 963 will bear Mustang Sampling’s colors for the remainder of the season, sporting a striking black and gold livery designed by Andy Blackmore.
The team has changed its car number from 85 to 5, aligning with Mustang Sampling’s previous IMSA entries and reminiscent of the winning car from 2021. The driver lineup remains unchanged, featuring Tijmen van der Helm, Nico Pino, and Kaylen Frederick, who previously secured a seventh-place finish at the Rolex 24 At Daytona this year.
John Church, Managing Partner of JDC-Miller MotorSports, stated, “The 12 Hours of Sebring is always a special race for us. We thrive on adversity, and Sebring presents that in abundance.” He reflected on their 2021 win, noting the team’s perseverance through significant challenges during the race, including supply shortages in the pit and car contact.
Mustang Sampling CEO Ken Thompson expressed his excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the emotional resonance of returning five years after their Sebring victory. He commented on the familial atmosphere within the team, which contributed to the decision to reignite their collaboration.
In addition to the Porsche entry, JDC-Miller will also field a #79 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2, driven by Gerry Kraut, Josh Burdon, and rookie Sennan Fielding at Sebring.
This renewed collaboration signals a significant moment as JDC-Miller aims to capture the spirit of their past successes while embracing the challenges of the current racing landscape.
