Casey Cochran Returns for 2026 Detroit SX After Injury-Driven Hiatus
Casey Cochran is set to make his 2026 season debut at the Detroit Supercross this weekend, after recovering from a fractured collarbone sustained just before the 250SX East Division opener, which sidelined him for multiple rounds.
Cochran, the reigning 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX Futures Champion, transitioned to professional racing at the end of the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross season, with noteworthy performances at Budds Creek and Ironman Nationals. Following this, he participated in the 250SX Futures series (now SMX Next), where he secured finishes of third and seventh at the Daytona and St. Louis rounds, respectively.
His professional 250SX resume includes three main event starts, where he finished consistently outside the top ten (15th-15th-16th) at the Foxborough, Nashville Showdown, and Philadelphia events in 2024. Cochran showed improvement in motocross, obtaining a podium with a third overall finish at the Spring Creek National before suffering a broken leg during pre-season testing for 2025. His injury kept him from competing in the 2025 250SX season.
Overall, Cochran has accumulated 15 event starts in Pro Motocross and aims to make an impact as he returns to the 250SX circuit this weekend, sporting national number #59. His performance will be closely monitored as he seeks to re-establish himself in the competitive arena.
