Landen Gordon Makes Professional Racing Debut at Nashville SX
In a tumultuous debut, California native Landen Gordon showcased both promise and challenges while racing for the renowned Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team at the Nashville Supercross.
Gordon opened the event with a commendable sixth-place finish in qualifying, leading to an impressive third-place result in his inaugural heat race. However, the main event proved to be more difficult. Following a strong initial start, Gordon became entangled with another rider in the first turn, necessitating a pit stop for a front wheel replacement. Rejoining the race in 22nd position, he completed the event, ultimately finishing three laps down.
Looking ahead to his second race in the Cleveland SX Triple Crown, Gordon reflected positively on his Nashville experience. “I learned a lot and got third place in the heat race,” he stated. “I had a good start in the main but caught another rider’s footpeg, which forced the pit stop. Overall, it was a great experience – onto the next one.”
Wil Hahn, General Manager of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s 250 team, praised Gordon’s performance: “He showed really good maturity… It’s a shame his wheel was sacrificed in that first turn.”
As Gordon prepares for the Cleveland event, the motorsports community will be watching closely to see how he builds on his debut experience.
