Assen Set to Host the 2027 Motocross of Nations
Assen, Netherlands – In a decisive move for the Motocross of Nations, David Luongo, President and CEO of Infront Moto Racing, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Assen, calling it “the Cathedral of Speed.” Known for its rich motocross heritage, the venue is expected to provide a challenging track with deep sand and intricate technical features. The event is scheduled to take place following a successful edition in 2019.
Luongo emphasized the importance of Assen as a venue, stating, “With the support of the KNMV, Assen is the perfect place to celebrate our sport at the end of the season.”
Jorge Viegas, President of the FIM, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the prestige of the event and the global participation it garners each year. “The Motocross of Nations is one of the most prestigious and hard-fought events on our calendar… I am sure the Motocross of Nations in Assen will be a tremendous success,” he remarked.
Lee van Dam, the event organizer, indicated excitement for the upcoming edition, stating, “We’re working with Infront on a new track layout to make 2027 even more exciting.” This effort aims to elevate the experience for both teams and fans.
Marco Out, the Mayor of Assen, praised the event’s return for solidifying the city’s status as the motorsport capital of the Netherlands. Reflecting on the previous edition attended by royalty, he noted, “Having the Motocross of Nations back strengthens our position… I am sure we will have a wonderful time again.”
Wim Mulder, President of the KNMV, affirmed the dedication to showcasing the Netherlands while competing for the podium against nations like France. He stated, “The preparations are on schedule. We have been working on this for almost two years, and I trust this is only the beginning of a fantastic event.”
