NLS Sportwarte Trophy Set for Thrilling Finale at Nürburgring
Nürburgring, Germany – The final round of the 2026 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) kicks off this weekend with an impressive entry list of 118 cars. The highlight of the event is the SP9 category, featuring 19 cars competing in three classifications: Pro (5), Pro-Am (8), and Am (6).
Schubert Motorsport’s #77 BMW M4 GT3 Evo will be driven by Jordan Pepper and Tim Tramnitz, aiming to secure a third win this season. The team has already clinched the NLS Speed Trophy and the SP9 Pro Teams’ titles.
Schanbl Engineering returns with a strong lineup after a 1-2 finish in NLS9 last month, running two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs (992.2). Nico Menzel and Sven Müller will race the #17 entry, while Müller partners with Tim Heinemann in the #44 Falken Motorsports-branded car.
Notable entries include Walkenhorst Motorsport’s #35 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo for Christian Krognes and Mateo Villagomez, and HRT Ford Racing’s #64 Ford Mustang GT3 Evo driven by Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler.
In the fiercely contested SP9 Pro-Am category, only four points separate the leading #48 Losch Motorsport by Black Falcon Porsche from the #23 Gamota Racing BMW. The #48, driven by Patrick Assenheimer, Tobias Müller, and Dylan Pereira, seeks to continue its winning streak of four races, while Gamota Racing introduces a second car for the first time, activating the #36 BMW for Zsigo, Walter, and Fetzer.
The SP9 Am Teams’ Championship has been decisively won by the absent #5 Black Falcon Team EAE Porsche, creating an opportunity for other teams to compete for victory.
Further diversifying the grid, Max Kruse Racing enters two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs, with the #75 entry already scoring the first overall podium for a GT3 car running on E20 fuel during NLS8.
In the lower classes, the focus is on the #650 Adrenalin Motorsport Team Manhattan Wheels BMW M240i Racing Cup, currently leading the overall Drivers’ Championship. Edoardo Bugane, Yannick Fübrich, and Sven Markert hold a four-point advantage over the #953 Smyrlis Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS competitors, Fielenbach and Sandberg. Alexandru Vasilescu from the #177 AV Racing by Black Falcon BMW M4 GT4 remains in contention at 14 points back.
The inaugural NLS Sportwarte Trophy is set to take place on October 9-10, 2026, with the four-hour race commencing at 12:00 CEST on Saturday, following qualifying at 08:30 CEST.
