Robert Kubica Confirms Departure from AF Corse’s Ferrari 499P Hypercar
In a significant development for the FIA World Endurance Championship, Robert Kubica has announced that he will not return to the AF Corse #83 Ferrari 499P Hypercar for the 2027 season. This statement comes after the conclusion of the 2026 season at Monza, marking the end of his tenure with the team.
“Just to let you know, this has been my last race in yellow,” Kubica stated in a recent social media video. “Let’s see what the future will bring.”
Kubica has been a key figure in the #83 entry since its inception into the Hypercar class ahead of the 2024 season. His tenure includes notable achievements such as winning the prestigious 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2024 Lone Star Le Mans, as well as a runner-up finish in the 2025 Hypercar Drivers’ World Championship.
Throughout his time with the team, Kubica shared driving duties with Ye Yifei, Robert Shwartzman, and Phil Hanson. The 2026 season, however, presented challenges, with only top-five finishes at the races in São Paulo and Barcelona marking highlights for the trio.
As of now, Kubica has not disclosed any plans for his racing future beyond 2026.
