Alexander Fedortsov Clinches SMX Next Supercross AMA National Championship
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — In a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 SMX Next Supercross season, Alexander Fedortsov of Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha captured the AMA National Championship title on April 26 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Fedortsov, showcasing exceptional resilience throughout the season, faced significant challenges in the qualifying rounds, including a flat tire at the Daytona Beach event that thwarted a potential victory. However, in Pittsburgh, he demonstrated dominance, starting fourth but swiftly maneuvering to the front of the pack.
“[It] feels insane. Honestly, I can’t believe I did it,” said Fedortsov, reflecting on his victory. “I had a great start, passed my teammate right away, and just checked out a little bit.”
AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier praised Fedortsov’s performance, stating, “It was a terrific season of SMX Next racing, and Alexander proved that he is one of the brightest up-and-comers in our sport.”
Despite enduring prior setbacks, Fedortsov’s meticulous preparation culminated in a flawless performance. He managed to fend off strong challenges from Kawasaki Team Green competitors Landen Gordon and Enzo Temmerman to secure the prestigious AMA National No. 1 plate.
