Michael Mosiman Reflects on a Resilient Season with Yamaha Star Racing
Michael Mosiman has completed a full season with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, following a turbulent period marked by significant challenges. After racing only two events in 2024 and facing injuries in prior years, Mosiman’s performance in the 2023 season culminated in a podium finish in Arlington and a commendable fifth place in the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Showdown in Salt Lake City.
In an exclusive post-race interview, Mosiman described the year as a "crazy up-and-down" journey, emphasizing his near-fatal incident last year. "The doctor told me I was three millimeters away from a life-altering situation," he recalled. This harrowing experience, coupled with steadfast support from his team, allowed him to rebuild both physically and mentally over the season.
Mosiman noted, "With two rounds to go, we discovered some new setups for the bike that rejuvenated my riding style and confidence." He reflected on the learning curve from cautious riding – a strategy out of fatigue – to a more aggressive racing approach, stating, "Tonight, I was able to keep charging even though I was a little tired… I came from around 11th or 12th on the first lap to finish fifth. It was awesome."
Looking ahead, Mosiman is optimistic about the upcoming outdoor series and the SuperMotocross (SMX) events. "I’m excited to continue building from here," he concluded, positioning himself as a competitive force in the upcoming challenges.
