Hadjar Optimistic Ahead of Promotion to Red Bull Racing
Isack Hadjar is set to join Red Bull Racing in 2026, a timely promotion that he believes positions him advantageously amid the upcoming regulatory changes. Following a standout rookie season with Racing Bulls, Hadjar steps in for Yuki Tsunoda, a role that has proven challenging for his predecessors, including Liam Lawson and Sergio Perez.
“This is the best timing by far,” Hadjar stated. “It’s a new car, and since Max (Verstappen) doesn’t know the car yet either, we all start from scratch.” This fresh chapter represents an opportunity for Hadjar to leverage the team’s development and his own insights early in the season.
As preparations kick-off in Milton Keynes beginning in January, Hadjar notes that the absence of a pre-existing car allows for significant input during the development phase. “The focus point is changing, and I can’t wait to get to work with the team,” he added. “The simulator will play a vital role.”
Despite the excitement, Hadjar recognizes the need to temper expectations while learning from four-time world champion Verstappen. “To be the first driver in a while to perform well alongside Max would be a success,” he remarked. His appreciation for the opportunity underscores the unique position he finds himself in at just 21 years of age, stating, “I’m grateful for the chance to witness and compete at this level early in my career.”
As Hadjar prepares for this significant step, all eyes will be on how he adapts and contributes to Red Bull’s future campaigns.
