Brad Pitt’s Sim Racing Highlights and McLaren Experience

London, UK — In a lighthearted segment on BBC Radio, Brad Pitt engaged in a competitive sim racing challenge at the F1 Arcade, losing to host Greg James and co-star Damson Idris. The three raced on renowned tracks including Silverstone, Monza, and Spa-Francorchamps. Pitt’s performance saw him garnering 575 points, significantly trailing behind James’ 1200 and Idris’ 1125.

Despite the losses, Pitt took the defeat in stride, congratulating James afterward. "I’m highly competitive, so this stings a bit,” he remarked.

Pitt, who is currently promoting his upcoming F1-themed movie, also shared insights from a recent test drive in a McLaren at the Circuit of the Americas. When asked about rumor of reaching high speeds, he noted, “I was just three miles per hour short of hitting 200.” He expressed the exhilaration of the experience, stating, "I didn’t sleep for 36 hours; it was such a high." He described the intensity of driving a McLaren F1 car as unmatched, revealing that he felt a profound sense of presence while driving.

The film’s portrayal of racing requires realistic sound and feel; Pitt emphasized how driving the McLaren, specifically Lando Norris’ 2023 model, heightened his appreciation for the sport’s technical aspects. “The step up to F1 is massive,” he observed.

Pitt elaborated the unique sensations of downforce and speed, comparing it to taking flight in an aerobatic plane. "It’s an extraordinary feeling," he added, and expressed a desire to return and improve his lap times.

Overall, Pitt’s experiences reflect the blend of entertainment and authentic motorsport passion that he hopes to convey in his forthcoming film.
