Red Bull Chief Horner Dismisses Speculation About Future Moves
Montreal, Canada – Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has emphatically denied speculation linking him to positions at Ferrari or Alpine. Amidst ongoing performance challenges, rumors suggested that Red Bull GmbH was contemplating Horner’s departure. However, these claims remain unverified.
In a statement to Sky Sports F1, Horner asserted his commitment to Red Bull, stating, "I’m not going anywhere… We’ve got so much good stuff coming through the pipeline," highlighting the team’s development of their own engine set for 2026. He added, "I don’t have any intention of being anywhere else."
Horner’s comments come as Alpine seeks a new team principal following Oliver Oakes’ unexpected exit earlier this season, with Flavio Briatore currently serving as interim chief. Concurrently, rumors surrounding Ferrari’s Fred Vasseur have been dismissed by both the team and key drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Currently, Red Bull stands fourth in the Constructors’ Championship with 144 points, trailing leaders McLaren by 218 points. The team is looking to capitalize on their promising start to the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, with Max Verstappen leading the first practice session. He noted the significance of track setup, given the circuit’s unique characteristics and braking zones, and expressed optimism for a strong performance, stating, "The weather conditions are looking a bit better than last year."
As the season progresses, Horner’s focus on strategic growth within Red Bull may serve as a critical component in navigating the competitive landscape of Formula 1.
