Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025: Toyota Concept Cars Unveiled
The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed marked a significant milestone, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. Among the highlights, Haas drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman showcased Toyota’s latest offerings: the GT Concept and GT Racing Concept vehicles.
Both cars, draped in heavy camouflage, retain striking design cues reminiscent of the esteemed Lexus LFA, featuring elongated bonnets and aggressive aesthetics. While Toyota has yet to disclose detailed specifications, reports suggest a power output exceeding 900 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
Ocon expressed his enthusiasm after driving the road version, stating, "It’s incredibly fast, incredibly capable. A big thank you to Toyota for trusting us to drive these beasts." Bearman echoed his sentiments, noting the performances during the hillclimb as remarkable. "The GT is definitely a bit faster…that track comes alive. I really had fun."
For Ocon, this event was particularly special as he was able to share the experience with his father, Laurent. "It’s impressive to see the crowd and how fast the car flies by," he reflected.
In a light-hearted moment, when asked about who could "burn more rubber," both drivers humorously concluded it was an even contest between them.
The Goodwood Festival continues to serve as a prominent platform for automotive innovation and a celebration of motorsport heritage, drawing fans and drivers alike to appreciate cutting-edge technology in action.
