Formula 1 Solidifies Miami Grand Prix with 10-Year Contract Extension

Formula 1 has secured a significant 10-year contract extension with the Miami Grand Prix, ensuring the race remains on the calendar until 2041. The announcement was made by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and Tom Garfinkel, managing partner of the race and CEO of the Miami Dolphins, ahead of this weekend’s events.

Since its inaugural race in 2022, Miami has quickly established itself alongside the United States Grand Prix in Austin as a key fixture in the F1 calendar, later joined by the Las Vegas Grand Prix. This extension marks the longest agreement for any race currently on the schedule, underscoring the event’s rising prominence as F1 aims to deepen its foothold in the U.S. market.

“In just three years, the Miami Grand Prix has established itself as one of the most important and spectacular events on our calendar,” Domenicali noted. “Extending this agreement until 2041 is a strategic milestone that strengthens our presence in America and consolidates our bond with fans.”

The race has generated over $1 billion in economic impact for Miami since its inception and attracted 275,000 attendees last year, when McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed his first Grand Prix victory.

Garfinkel highlighted the significance of the extension, stating, “This long-term commitment allows us to continue innovating… and deepening our impact across South Florida.” The Miami Grand Prix is now positioned as a cornerstone of F1’s North American strategy, reflecting the league’s ambitions in a rapidly growing market.
