Haas Turns to Toyota for Future as TGR Haas F1 Team Set to Debut in 2026
Haas F1 Team has announced a significant shift in its partnership dynamics, rebranding as the TGR Haas F1 Team starting in 2026. This change comes as Haas expands its collaboration with Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) to include a title partnership, following the conclusion of its previous sponsorship agreement with Moneygram at the end of the current season.
The synergy with TGR has enabled Haas to implement a testing of previous car (TPC) program this year. This initiative has provided valuable seat time for Toyota-associated drivers, including Ryo Hirakawa, Ritomo Miyata, Sho Tsuboi, and Kamui Kobayashi. The TPC program will be rebranded as the TGR Haas Driver Development Program in 2026, marking a commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu expressed optimism about the partnership: “It’s naturally a privilege to deepen our relationship with TGR through this new title partnership agreement,” he stated. Komatsu highlighted the successful TPC running and noted ongoing developments, including the installation of a state-of-the-art simulator at their Banbury facility aimed at enhancing team capabilities for the upcoming regulatory changes.
Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda emphasized the partnership’s transformative impact on their personnel. “I witnessed young TGR drivers and engineers believe in their own potential,” Toyoda remarked, stressing the significance of this collaboration for both organizations. He added, “By taking our partnership with Haas another step forward next year, TGR’s ‘People, Product, Pipeline’ mantra will accelerate in a way we have never seen before.”
The new TGR Haas livery will be revealed online on January 23, coinciding with Alpine’s unveiling, ahead of the Barcelona shakedown the following week. As the team prepares for this pivotal transition, it enters a critical phase in its development, aligning resources and strategy with TGR to embrace the evolving landscape of Formula 1.
