Red Bull Announces 2026 Driver Line-up: Isack Hadjar Set to Replace Yuki Tsunoda
In a significant reshuffle, Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will join Max Verstappen as a full-time driver in 2026, effectively replacing Yuki Tsunoda, who will transition to a reserve role. This strategic move comes after Hadjar’s impressive performance in his rookie season, which has solidified his reputation within the Red Bull junior program.
Hadjar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I’m so grateful to Oracle Red Bull Racing for giving me the opportunity and trust to race at the highest level of Formula 1.” He highlighted the progress he has made during the season, including achieving a maiden podium finish.
The shift in drivers marks the fourth change for Red Bull in just over a year, following Sergio Perez’s replacement by Liam Lawson after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year. Alongside Lawson, 18-year-old Arvid Lindblad will also step into Formula 1 with the Racing Bulls, as the team’s future strategy unfolds.
Team principal Laurent Mekies praised Tsunoda’s contributions over his seven-year tenure, noting, “Yuki has matured into a complete racer… He has become a very special part of the Red Bull family.” Mekies believes Hadjar’s “raw speed” will complement Verstappen, setting the stage for a competitive 2026 season.
Lindblad, who has shown strong potential in Formula 2 with two wins so far, expressed his excitement about stepping up: “I’m extremely grateful to the Red Bull Junior Program and my personal team… I can’t wait to get started.”
This new driver line-up aligns with Red Bull’s commitment to harnessing young talent while ensuring competitive performance, paving the way for ambitious goals in the forthcoming season.
