Vowles Test Drives Mansell’s FW14B Ahead of Goodwood Festival
Williams Racing Team Principal James Vowles conducted a test drive of Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning FW14B as he prepares for the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled for July 10-13, 2025. Vowles, alongside F1 Academy driver Lia Block and brand ambassador Jamie Chadwick, will navigate the iconic hill climb in the historic car, while Mansell himself will drive both the FW14B and his race-winning FW11.
Reflecting on the moment, Vowles stated, "One of the most incredible days of my career. Today, I had the opportunity to drive Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning car… Just over 30 years since I watched this car race on TV. Today was special, but Goodwood will be on another level."
The FW14B, known for its advanced technology and significant achievements during its era, represents a pivotal piece of Formula 1 history. "This is a dream come true; an iconic car, with such a huge list of success," remarked Vowles.
Mansell’s participation aligns with the festival’s 75th-anniversary celebrations, which will also feature other F1 legends including Alain Prost, Mario Andretti, Sir Jackie Stewart, and Mika Hakkinen.
This year’s event is set to bring together a prominent gathering of motorsport icons, further solidifying its status as a must-see showcase in the racing calendar.
