Robbery Incident Shakes Jenson Button’s Family

London, UK – Brittny Button, wife of former F1 champion Jenson Button, became a victim of a daylight robbery in London following their Valentine’s Day getaway. Outside St Pancras station, a thief seized a Goyard suitcase containing over $333,000 worth of handbags, jewelry, and personal items.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Brittny expressed her shock at the lack of safety in London, calling the experience “traumatizing.” She recalled, “I was kind of shocked. How insecure everything felt… it was chaotic.” The incident occurred as Jenson loaded his own bag into the car, with Brittny’s suitcase being taken without their notice. “We didn’t even see him do it,” she stated.

The emotional impact was immediate. Brittny admitted to crying in the aftermath and reflected on feeling upset with Jenson for not being more cautious. “He was trusting and a little too relaxed,” she said, emphasizing her past experiences with safety while traveling. This incident mirrors a burglary experienced by Jenson ten years prior, during which over $300,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from his home.

A 41-year-old man named Mourad Aid was arrested days later and pleaded guilty to the theft, although the stolen items had been listed for sale online prior to his capture. Brittny underscored the sentimental value of her possessions, stating, “I bought about half of them… to have someone come up to me and take them – it’s just frustrating.”

This alarming theft stands as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by high-profile individuals, drawing attention to the ongoing issues of public safety in urban centers.
