Leclerc Address Rumors Amid Ferrari’s Struggles
Charles Leclerc has refuted recent speculation regarding his future with Ferrari, emphasizing his commitment to the team despite its challenges in the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Monegasque driver expressed surprise at the rumors suggesting he might seek opportunities elsewhere.
Ferrari’s performance has fallen short of expectations, with the team securing only three podiums this year and struggling to replicate the pace from the end of 2024. While they claimed victory in a sprint race in China with Lewis Hamilton at the helm, overall results have raised concerns about team principal Fred Vasseur’s future, alongside speculation about Leclerc’s contract exit clause.
"I have no idea from where it’s coming from," Leclerc stated regarding the rumors. "I keep saying how much I love the team and how much I want to bring Ferrari back to the top."
He acknowledged the team’s current predicament and noted McLaren’s significant progress this season, stating, "we thought we had chances to challenge McLaren and Red Bull." Leclerc insists that Ferrari must regain its competitive edge, highlighting the need to discover what has fueled McLaren’s advancements.
"We are all aware of it. Second is never good enough for Ferrari," added Leclerc, solidifying his intent to focus on internal goals rather than external pressures. He emphasized the common vision among himself, Vasseur, and Hamilton to restore Ferrari’s winning legacy.
As the season unfolds, Ferrari’s performance will remain a focal point, with Leclerc’s determination to lead the team back to prominence firmly intact.
