Hamilton Launches First Film Amid F1 Screens
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion and Ferrari driver, is now embracing a new chapter in his career as a film producer. His debut project, an upcoming F1 film, recently premiered for a select audience of drivers and team principals, where he expressed both excitement and anxiety about their reactions.
“I’ve seen it like 20 times already,” Hamilton stated post-viewing. “It was an incredible experience to witness the transformation from the initial treatment to the final story.”
Hamilton’s unique perspective as a driver has contributed to the film’s authenticity, though he acknowledged the necessary Hollywood embellishments. “I wanted the drivers to think highly of it. I messaged them for their honest opinions,” he said, highlighting the film’s strong audio-visual elements despite minor inaccuracies in race strategy portrayal.
The project was developed in collaboration with Apple, underlining the significance of this venture for Hamilton. He praised the partnership, noting, “They have been the best partner to work with,” referencing a thrilling tour of Apple’s headquarters led by CEO Tim Cook.
Looking to the future, Hamilton revealed that he has multiple film concepts in development through his production company, Dawn Apollo Films. “We will be producing more movies over the coming years,” he shared, with plans for animated features and documentaries also on the horizon.
This initiative signals Hamilton’s intention to remain active in the entertainment industry, balancing his legacy in motorsports with new creative pursuits.
