Alpine Delays New Brake Ducts for Sprint Weekend
Alpine Racing has opted not to deploy its new front brake ducts and associated suspension components at the Miami Grand Prix. Despite the team’s intention to enhance airflow and overall aerodynamics, limited testing time during the sprint weekend prompted the decision to postpone the update until the upcoming Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola.
David Sanchez, Alpine’s Executive Technical Director, stated, "We’re not going to run it this weekend. When we considered everything—especially the sprint format—we decided it was best to hold off until the next round. We have the components ready, but it’s crucial to ensure they’re effectively integrated into our setup."
This strategic choice highlights Alpine’s focus on maximizing performance while managing the complexities of tire heating and cooling. As the team prepares for Imola, the introduction of the new parts aims to bolster their competitiveness in subsequent races.
