Mercedes Unveils Vintage-Inspired Apparel Collection for British Grand Prix
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team has launched a new fanwear collection in partnership with adidas, celebrating the 70th anniversary of its 1955 World Championship title. The “Silver Arrows” collection draws inspiration from the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196, famously driven by racing icons Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss.
The collection features key apparel items in silver and grey tones, including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and caps, prominently displaying the adidas logo alongside distinctive silver chalice detailing. Notably, the hoodie boasts the same tartan lining found in the original W196 interior, further emphasizing its rich heritage.
Michael Batz, General Manager of the Motorsport category at adidas, remarked, “Silverstone is an iconic circuit that has witnessed exhilarating races, making it the ideal venue to launch this tribute to the Mercedes-Benz W196.” He continued, “Our aim is to honor the legacy of a team that has thrived at the highest level of motorsport.”
Richard Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer at Mercedes-AMG, echoed this sentiment, stating, “To have a collection for Silverstone, which pays tribute to our history, is truly exciting. We look forward to seeing fans support us wearing this collection during the race weekend.”
The Silver Arrows collection is now available for purchase on adidas.com/motorsport and select adidas retailers worldwide.
