Miami Grand Prix Secures Long-Term Future with 10-Year Contract Extension
Miami, FL — Formula 1 has solidified its commitment to the United States with a landmark 10-year contract extension for the Miami Grand Prix, effective through 2041. The announcement was made on Friday ahead of the 2025 race weekend by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and Miami Grand Prix managing partner Tom Garfinkel.
Domenicali emphasized the race’s strategic importance in enhancing F1’s presence in the U.S. market. “Miami will be part of our biggest strategy to be even stronger in the United States,” he declared. The CEO highlighted Miami’s role as a pivotal element in F1’s efforts to cultivate its American fanbase, especially following the pandemic’s disruptions.
Reflecting on F1’s growth trajectory, Domenicali noted, “Our strategy includes long-term partnerships globally. Miami was fundamental to our next steps after the pandemic, proving critical in establishing a customer base that resonates with our brand.”
Since its inaugural race in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has garnered significant attention, appealing to a diverse audience that includes celebrities and sports figures. This appeal is further supported by F1’s broader initiative, which now includes three races in the U.S. with the addition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023.
Domenicali also addressed the unique positioning of each event, stating, “Every venue targets different customer clusters, and we aim to avoid cannibalization in our scheduling.” He believes these venues will complement each other, ultimately enhancing F1’s stability and growth in the American market.
As F1 continues to expand its footprint across North America, the Miami Grand Prix stands as a cornerstone of its strategic endeavors aimed at increasing its cultural relevance in the region.
