Historic Auction: Schumacher’s Ferrari F2001 Fetches €15.98 Million
During the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, a remarkable auction saw Michael Schumacher’s 2001 Ferrari F2001 sell for €15,980,000. The proceeds will partially benefit the Keep Fighting Foundation, which supports Schumacher’s charitable initiatives since his skiing accident.
Chassis no. 211 is highly regarded among collectors, not only for its aesthetic allure but also for its historical significance, having secured Schumacher’s fourth Drivers’ Championship in a season that marked Ferrari’s first back-to-back championship double.
Augustin Sabatié-Garat, Director of Sales at RM Sotheby’s, emphasized the car’s importance: “Victory on the streets of Monte-Carlo alone makes this Ferrari hugely significant, but capturing both the Drivers’ and Teams’ World Championships in 2001 elevates it to an iconic status.”
The auction provided F1 Paddock Club attendees the unique opportunity to view this distinguished car, marking the first auction at the legendary Monaco Grand Prix.
