Daniel Ricciardo Announces Retirement from Racing, Becomes Ford Racing Ambassador

Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed his retirement from competitive motorsport, transitioning to a new role as a Global Ford Racing Ambassador. The 36-year-old Australian, who last competed in the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix for Racing Bulls, has not raced in the past year and ruled out pursuing opportunities with other teams, including a potential seat with Cadillac F1 in 2026.

In his announcement, Ricciardo expressed a lifelong passion for motorsport, stating, “While my racing days are behind me, my love for anything with wheels will always remain high.” He emphasized the authentic connection he hopes to maintain with the racing world through his work with Ford Racing, particularly focusing on the Raptor brand.

Ricciardo’s F1 career spans 257 races, yielding eight Grand Prix victories and 32 podium finishes. Notably, he finished in the top three of the drivers’ championship during his tenure at Red Bull in 2014 and 2016, with his last win occurring four years ago at Monza with McLaren.

As he embarks on this new chapter, Ricciardo’s departure marks the end of an era for a driver known for his vibrant personality and competitive spirit on the track.
