Stroll’s Controversial Comments Draw Criticism from Ralf Schumacher

Lance Stroll’s performance at the British Grand Prix has sparked controversy after the Aston Martin driver described the AMR25 as "the worst piece of s**t I’ve ever driven in my life" following his seventh-place finish. The incident has drawn sharp rebuke from former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, who labeled Stroll’s remarks as "unacceptable."

Stroll, who was running third at one point, ultimately scored six points for Aston Martin, but expressed his frustration over team radio post-race, prompting Schumacher to call for an apology. "It’s a question of manners," he stated on the Sky Deutschland Backstage Pitlane podcast. "You have to consider the impact on the mechanics who work tirelessly for the team."

Schumacher acknowledged Stroll’s potential, especially in challenging conditions, but emphasized that derogatory comments undermine the team’s efforts. He criticized Stroll’s lack of respect towards the team, stating, "This is completely unacceptable; that’s an absolute no-go."

In his media briefing, Stroll did concede that the result was satisfactory but cited significant tyre degradation as a major issue during the race. "The Sauber had a lot more grip, so they had a much faster car," he remarked. "With the degradation we have, we couldn’t have got a better result."

After 12 races in the 2025 season, Aston Martin sits eighth in the constructors’ standings with 36 points, tied with Racing Bulls in seventh.
