Lindblad Completes First F1 Test with Racing Bull’s AT04 at Imola

Red Bull junior driver Arvid Lindblad marked a significant milestone in his career by participating in his first official F1 test at Imola, piloting the Racing Bull AT04. The test, taking place on Monday at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix venue, involved Lindblad sharing the session with compatriot Ayumu Iwasa, who took over in the afternoon.

At just 17 years old, Lindblad recently received an FIA superlicence, enabling him to begin his journey in Formula 1, although he requires a dispensation due to his age. Despite already having a filming day experience at Imola in February, this test provided Lindblad with valuable seat time in a two-year-old car without the usual restrictions.

The young talent’s performance included a couple of spins at Variante Alta, but overall, the session was productive as Lindblad prepares for his upcoming FP1 practice debut scheduled for later this season. Red Bull plans to utilize Lindblad for several outings in both the Racing Bulls and the parent team, filling two of their four mandatory FP1 rookie slots.

Lindblad’s recent achievements include a dominant title run in the Formula Regional Oceania series and capturing his first F2 feature race victory in Spain, following his inaugural sprint win in Jeddah. This impressive string of performances has positioned him third in the F2 standings, behind McLaren junior Alex Dunne and veteran driver Richard Verschoor.
