Red Bull Racing Prepares Final 2025 Upgrades Ahead of Key Grand Prix

Red Bull Racing is set to roll out its latest car upgrades during the upcoming Austrian and British Grands Prix, as the team approaches the conclusion of its 2025 Formula 1 development phase.

Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s advisor, confirmed that the enhancements include significant revisions to the car’s floor, sidepods, and front wing, which have been gradually introduced at previous races in Miami, Imola, and Barcelona.

"We are now getting an update for Austria, which will then be refined again for Silverstone," Marko stated, indicating a strategic push for improved performance. However, he cautioned, "If that doesn’t work either, then it will be difficult in the world championship. And it’s not as if it’s not difficult enough already."

Marko noted that these upgrades are likely to be the last major focus before the team shifts entirely to the new regulations for the following year. "The question is: where do you spend your resources?" he remarked. A decision on resource allocation is expected by late July, following the Silverstone or Spa races.

Although Marko believes Red Bull could close the gap of approximately three-tenths of a second per lap to the leading McLarens, he emphasized the urgency of these improvements. "It’s not impossible to make up the three tenths, but it has to come now."

Previewing the home race at the Red Bull Ring, Marko acknowledged the challenges the team faces. "Max Verstappen has won here five times; the track suits him," he said. However, he recognizes that tire management remains a significant issue for all teams except McLaren. "We are currently probably three tenths behind McLaren, but in a much smaller working window, which makes it even more difficult."

As the team gears up for the race, the focus will be on maximizing performance from the upcoming upgrades to maintain competitiveness in the championship standings.
