F1 Celebration at Selfridges Marks 75 Years of Racing History

London, UK – In a notable tribute to Formula 1’s 75th anniversary, Selfridges has launched a pop-up exhibition titled “F1 75 Years in Motion,” running from June 23 to July 6. This unique event, housed in a mid-20th-century British home setting, showcases a curated selection of vintage merchandise and memorabilia, celebrating the sport’s illustrious history.

Among the highlights is a collection of rare apparel, including authentic 1990s team jackets from Benetton, Canon Williams, and Ferrari. A standout item is a deep royal purple Ferrari Sport Support Satin jacket featuring the dates of all 1991 Grands Prix, alongside a vintage Caesars Palace Grand Prix jacket, complete with the Las Vegas skyline crest.

Other collectible items include a 1974 Heuer Silverstone watch and a Cavalline desk clock modeled after Niki Lauda’s crash helmet. The exhibition also features crossover pieces from the F1 x Peanuts collaboration, linking the iconic comic strip’s creator, Charles Schulz, with the racing world.

Emily Prazer, F1’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “75 Years in Motion is a curated celebration of Formula 1’s legacy. Fashion has played an integral role in the sport’s evolution, and this collaboration with Selfridges highlights its cultural significance.”

This exhibition not only honors the dynamic history of Formula 1 but also reflects on the intersection of fashion and motorsport. Fans and collectors have the opportunity to engage with a unique blend of past and present, enriching their understanding of the sport’s impactful narrative.
