Arrests at British Grand Prix for Alleged Damage to F1 Car

During the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone, three YouTubers were arrested on suspicion of causing significant damage to a classic BWT Racing Point Formula 1 car. Morgan Burtwistle, known as AngryGinge, along with Charlie Clark (Chazza) and Samuel Imie (SamHam), were detained after an incident on July 4, leading to reported damages of several thousand pounds.

According to a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police, the arrests occurred after officers investigated a report of unauthorized access to the display stand where the car was located. The three men, aged 23, 25, and 27, all denied the allegations. Following a comprehensive investigation, they were released without charges.

In a subsequent YouTube vlog, Burtwistle recounted their experience, detailing their 15-hour detention. “They locked us up for watching somebody else sitting in a car,” he stated, contesting the severity of the charges.

Amidst this off-track controversy, the British Grand Prix delivered exciting on-track action. Lando Norris of McLaren clinched his first victory at his home race, while Oscar Piastri finished second, despite a 10-second penalty for erratic braking behind the safety car. Nico Hulkenberg from Sauber marked his first F1 podium with a third-place finish, highlighting the thrilling nature of the race despite the surrounding drama.
