Yuki Tsunoda Prepares for Crucial Canadian Grand Prix
Yuki Tsunoda is looking to revitalize his 2025 Formula 1 prospects at the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, emphasizing a need for performance improvement. Following his transition to Red Bull Racing after the Chinese Grand Prix, the Japanese driver has faced challenges with the RB21’s handling, leading to inconsistent results compared to teammate Liam Lawson.
Red Bull has shown patience with Tsunoda, allowing him time in the championship-winning RB19 car post-Barcelona, aimed at enhancing his technical understanding of the vehicle. Tsunoda recognizes the importance of results at this juncture: “As long as I don’t perform, I know what’s going to happen. It’s not the place I should be.”
Confident in his ability to rebound, Tsunoda noted, “Montreal should help facilitate further improvements. I’m slowly getting more comfortable with the car.” He advocated for a hands-on approach to development: “I just need time to do it on the track. It’s always easier to understand by doing it.”
Despite not revealing specific areas for improvement, Tsunoda has been actively collaborating at Red Bull’s Milton Keynes factory. He reflected on his recent experience testing the RB19, highlighting the advantages it offers, although he noted that the differences between the two cars were not drastic.
Tsunoda is keen to leverage his insights from the RB19 to enhance his performance in the forthcoming races, stating, “I gave good feedback to them and suggested ideas for potential improvements.”
As Tsunoda prepares for the challenges of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, his focus remains on maximizing his potential and solidifying his place within the team during this pivotal season.
