Provisional Entry List Released for IMSA’s TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) has announced the provisional entry list for the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks, scheduled for next Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. A total of 53 cars are confirmed for this six-hour endurance race, marking the penultimate round of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

GTP Class Lineup

The GTP class features 12 entries, notably excluding the No. 5 Proton Competition Porsche 963, which is sidelined after sustaining significant damage during the Sahlen’s Six Hours at the Glen. The car will not return for either the Indianapolis race or the upcoming Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, effectively concluding its 2025 campaign.

Frederik Vesti and Kakunoshin Ohta will continue their roles with the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R and No. 93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06, respectively. Ohta’s participation will conclude at Indianapolis, while Vesti is set to return for Road Atlanta. Additionally, Nico Müller will replace Gianmaria Bruni at JDC-Miller MotorSports in the No. 85 Porsche, and Romain Grosjean will team up with Edoardo Mortara in the No. 63 Lamborghini Squadra Corse SC63 for this pivotal race.

LMP2 Highlights

The LMP2 category features 12 full-time teams, with notable personnel changes including Tom Dillmann’s return to the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition ORECA 07-Gibson after recovering from a back injury. Former Formula 1 driver Logan Sargent will also make his IMSA LMP2 debut with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports. Other notable returns include reigning IMSA champion Oliver Jarvis with Era Motorsport and Le Mans winner Nicklas Nielsen with AF Corse.

GTD and GTD PRO Updates

In the GTD PRO class, Kenny Habul’s No. 75 Express team will make a cameo appearance, featuring Habul alongside Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Mikaël Grenier, and Supercars Championship leader Broc Feeney in his IMSA debut. Also noteworthy, Davide Rigon will substitute for Giacomo Altoè in the title-contending No. 81 DragonSpeed Ferrari 296 GT3, while Connor De Phillippi rejoins the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

The GTD category boasts 18 provisional entries, but will not include the No. 83 Porsche 911 GT3 R from Iron Dames, which was withdrawn due to Sarah Bovy’s injury. Gradient Racing has signed Mason Filippi for the final two rounds, replacing Tatiana Calderón and leaving AF Corse’s Lilou Wadoux as the sole female driver in the current lineup.

Triarsi Competizione is expected to enter two Ferraris, led by GTD title contender Kenton Koch. Meanwhile, Nicola Lacorte joins the No. 47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari, with a notable return to IMSA action alongside Antonio Fuoco and Lorenzo Patrese.

Rory van der Steur (No. 19 Van der Steur Racing Aston Martin) and Forte Racing (No. 78 Lamborghini) have pending driver confirmations, as IMSA regulations stipulate three drivers for the endurance format.

The stakes are high as teams prepare for this crucial event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with championship implications on the line in several categories.
